The United Arab Emirates has announced the possible date for the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. This information has emerged in reports by Khaleej Times and Gulf News.
Researchers in the United Arab Emirates have said that the month of Shaban may begin in the Middle East on January 31. In addition, the month of Ramadan may begin on March 1.
The country’s Astronomical Center published this information on the micro-blogging site X on Tuesday.
The Emirates Astronomical Center said that Wednesday, January 29, will be the 29th day of the month of Rajab 1446 AH. However, as the moon set before sunset on that day, it will not be possible to see the moon of the month of Shaban. Due to this, the month of Rajab will complete 30 days and the month of Shaban will begin on January 31.
The organization also said that on January 30, Thursday, the moon will be visible to the naked eye in several regions including Southern Europe, Africa, and the United States. Therefore, in countries where 29 Rajab falls on that day, the month of Shaban will also begin on January 31. These countries include Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Morocco, Cameroon, and Albania.
