Only freedom fighters' children will get a chance in Dhaka University's quota, not their grandchildren: Vice-Chancellor

In the admission test of Dhaka University for the 2024-25 academic year, only their children have been included in the freedom fighters’ quota. There will be no more quota for grandchildren. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan gave this information at a press conference after visiting the admission test center of the Arts, Law and Social Sciences unit on Saturday.

He said that this time the exam was held smoothly and no allegations of question leakage were found. By making logical changes in the admission quota, the quota has been reserved only for the children of freedom fighters.

In the exam held in eight divisional cities yesterday, 1,25,500 students applied. 43 people competed for each seat in this unit.

Regarding the admission test of other units of the university, it was informed that in the IBA unit exam on January 3, 10,270 students applied for 120 seats, where about 86 people competed for each seat. In the admission test of the Fine Arts unit on January 4, 6,083 people applied against 130 seats.
