Jatiyabadi Chhatra Dal general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir has blamed former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the clash between students of Dhaka University (DU) and seven colleges. He made the allegation in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday (January 26) night.
Nasir Uddin claimed that the seven traditional educational institutions have played an important role in higher education for a long time, but with the help of Sheikh Hasina, these colleges were affiliated to Dhaka University due to the dispute between former Vice-Chancellor Arefin Siddique and National University Vice-Chancellor Harun-ur-Rashid, which poses a threat to the future of the students. He said that Sheikh Hasina and her aide Arefin Siddique are responsible for the current situation.
Meanwhile, Nasir Uddin Nasir also mentioned that Dr. Harun-ur-Rashid advised Sheikh Hasina to open fire more on students during the mass uprising of 24. According to him, they were the main instigators behind the affiliation of these colleges.
He said that in the current situation, it is important to resolve the problem quickly through peaceful discussions between students, colleges and universities. Violence will further complicate the situation and block the path to a solution. Nasir urged all students to return to their institutions peacefully.
Nasir further said that the fascist Hasina government created this problem, and now they are destabilizing the situation by inciting this violence. He told the students that they should not create any conflict between the institutions that fought together in the historical struggle and give the fascists a chance today. He asked them to be vigilant against all kinds of provocations.
He appealed to the interim government to resolve the crisis created by fascist Hasina quickly and find an acceptable solution by taking into account the opinions of all parties.
