Businessman shot and 70 tolas of gold looted in Hazaribagh!

In the Hazaribagh section area of the capital, a jewelry businessman was shot and 70 tolas of gold were allegedly looted. The injured businessman’s name is Sajal Rajbanshi (37). This incident occurred on Thursday (January 23) at around 11 PM. Sajal was first taken to Dhaka Medical and later transferred to Dhanmondi Popular Hospital for advanced treatment.

The injured’s brother, Joy Rajbanshi, stated that their house is in the Hazaribagh section Beribadh area and they have a gold shop named “Iti Jewelers” in Kamrangirchar. While returning home on a motorcycle after closing the shop at night, Sajal was intercepted by seven to eight robbers on two motorcycles in the section Beribadh area. They shot Sajal in the left knee and snatched the gold bag from his shoulder.

Joy Rajbanshi claimed that the bag contained approximately 70 tolas of gold. The injured Sajal was first taken to the Heart Disease Hospital, then to Dhaka Medical, and later transferred to Dhanmondi Popular Hospital.

Md. Faruk, the in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said that the injured Sajal was brought to the hospital by his relatives. They alleged that the robbers shot Sajal in the leg and snatched the gold bag. Later, he was sent to a private hospital for advanced treatment.
