Amit Shah announces to rid Delhi of ‘Bangladeshis’

Amit Shah announces to rid Delhi of 'Bangladeshis'

The assembly elections will be held in Delhi in a few days. The current ruling party of the state, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the main partner of the central government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will face each other in this election in the first week of next month.

Tensions are high in Delhi politics surrounding this election. In such a situation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that if the BJP wins the election, Delhi will be freed from ‘Bangladeshis’ within 2 years.

The BJP has alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party has won so far based on the votes of illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. This information was reported in separate reports by Indian news agency PTI and media outlet The Hindu on Sunday (January 26).

The report also said that politics in Delhi has become heated before the election. Sunday was India’s Republic Day, but leaders continued to campaign on that day. Participating in the campaign, Amit Shah attacked the Aam Aadmi Party and called it an “illegal import party” (illegal income party).

Amit Shah has alleged that during his 10-year rule in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has done nothing but resort to false propaganda and corruption to get votes. At an election rally in Delhi’s Narela assembly constituency on Sunday, he urged the people to remove the Aam Aadmi Party from power and end its “misrule”.

He said, “BJP will fulfill all its election promises and make Delhi the best capital in the world. If BJP wins the next elections, Delhi will be freed from illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and Rohingyas.”

At a rally on Saturday, Amit Shah claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party had given shelter to illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingyas with the help of district administrations under its control. On Sunday, he said, “Kejriwal has lied repeatedly to get votes. AAP means ‘party of illegal imports’.”

He further alleged that the AAP government led by Kejriwal has only made false promises and is mired in corruption. In his words, Delhi is still struggling with dirty water supply, waterlogging, and inadequate education and healthcare.

Amit Shah promised, “You make BJP win, we will free Delhi from illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas within two years. There has been corruption worth crores of rupees during the AAP regime. Former Education Minister Manish Sisodia has opened liquor shops next to schools, temples and gurudwaras and is involved in corruption worth crores of rupees besides ruining the young generation.”

It is worth noting that the voting for the 70-seat assembly elections in Delhi will be held on February 5, and the results will be declared on February 8.
